It was June 1975 when one of the scariest movies ever made was released. The movie was Jaws. Jaws won three Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Original Dramatic Score, and Best Sound. It was also nominated for Best Picture, which believe it or not, lost to One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. Spielberg was not nominated for Best Director. Even though it was apparent that Jaws required exceptional logistics and special effects to make the movie happen. One of the most interesting aspect of the film was the effect it had a the public. Anyone who saw the movie never looked at the ocean the same way again. It swept the culture and even had a parity record done by Dickie Goodman who produced many other political and cultural parity records from the 1970 to 1980’s. Just like the movie Creature From the Black Lagoon. Jaws brought horror to the beach which still resonates today. Especially the movies iconic them music and background music. It’s a sure thing that people still hear jaws music in the back of their minds whenever they get to the beach.
